Guests For The Holidays? You Can Do It, Even In A Chicago Condo!

Year-end holiday time is fast approaching, and there’s no reason to not consider hosting a family member or friend just because you live in a condo.

Cheryl Rabin, the co-host of OwnACondo.com’s weekly radio program Condo Talk Live! has some great suggestions for making a holiday visitor feel comfortable and welcome.

“Fill a basket with travel-sized items like soap, mouthwash, toothpaste and other products,” she says. “Whenever you have company, it never fails that your guest(s) will ask ‘Do you have an extra___________? I forgot mine’.”

Another great touch Cheryl suggests is having a one-size-fits-all bathrobe, because most people don’t travel with such a bulky and heavy item. “Get navy or black for a man, white for a woman,” she says. “Slippers will be appreciated, too.”

On the more practical side, make sure your guest has an alarm clock and even a set of keys, if appropriate. Cheryl has even purchased one or more of her guest’s favorite magazines, foods and snacks.

An especially nice touch is a bed turn-down, complete with a chocolate on the pillow and a light application of linen spray so your holiday guest feels happy and appreciated. Who knows? You just might receive the same treatment when that person has you as a guest for the next holiday!
